Time discrimination
Time discrimination is based on the shift in tripping times between the upstream and downstream circuit-breakers. Each device is defined, at a given current, by a non tripping time t1 and by a total breaking time t2.
Time discrimination is obtained when the following relation is obtained: t1(of A) > t2(of B)
The upstream device must be able to time delay its opening (e.g. setting the time delay by a notch).
Note: This intentional delay is not possible on devices mounted on the mock-up.
