Safety measures to guard against nuisance tripping
Nuisance tripping can be generated by:
the inrush current at circuit closure,
the overload current during the lamp preheating phase,
and sometimes the harmonic current flowing through the neutral of three-phase circuits.
Method : Three solutions
Choose a circuit breaker with a less sensitive curve: change from curve B to curve C or from curve C to curve D.
Reduce the number of lamps per circuit.
Start up the circuits successively, using time delay auxiliaries on the control relays.
Warning :
Under no circumstances may the circuit breaker rating be increased, as the electrical conductors would then no longer be protected.
