"Link and Match" Vocational Education between Vocational Schools and Industry Exceeds Target

The launch of the tenth link and match vocational education program in the West Java region this year involved 2,604 SMKs and 885 industries. This has exceeded the target made by the Ministry of Industry, involved 2,600 SMKs and 750 industries. The Minister of Industry, Airlangga Hartarto, gave the highest appreciation to all SMK and industry parties who were enthusiastically involved in the strategic program. This was stated at PT. Indofood Barokah Makmur Award, Sukabumi, Monday (18/3).

At this launch, there was the signing of 631 cooperation agreements, among 128 industries with 451 SMKs. The Minister of Industry has held two launches of vocational education in West Java because this region has great potential in the development of the manufacturing industry sector.

In this series of activities, 28 companies donated machinery and equipment to 208 SMKs for practical purposes. One of them is from PT. Schneider Electric Indonesia which helped worth 300,000 Euros for the development of the Center of Excellence in the fields of electricity, industrial automation, and renewable energy for 10 Vocational Schools, including the Cimahi and Jayapura regions.

Visit from SMKN 2 Bawang, Central Java

The Centre of Excellence for Electricity, Automation and Renewable Energy received a visit from SMKN 2 Bawang, Central Java to our office in our building (19/10/2022). The visit was supervised by our Master Trainers Mr. Tatang Sukendar & Mr. Didi Kurniadi. SMKN 2 Bawang is one of our project equipped schools in the field of industrial automation. So we were able to discuss about the use of Schneider Electric Indonesia equipment in this SMK and present our facilities and laboratories. On this occasion, Mr. Manuel AZIBI, co-director of CoE EARE, had the opportunity to present the projects of augmented and virtual reality applied to education. These innovative learning tools aim to help teachers and students of SMK to use the Schneider Electric equipment that has been received in their schools. CoE EARE will conduct several tests in the coming weeks to validate the proper functioning of these solutions in vocational high schools in Indonesia. We hope that this innovation will contribute to the electrical and automation skills of our students!

Visit to Schneider Electric Cikarang Plant

The Centre of Excellence for Electricity, Automation and Renewable Energy team and the BBPPMPV BMTI Kemdikbud team had the opportunity to visit the Schneider Electric Cikarang Plant on Thursday (24/11). We would like to thank Mr. Joko Sutopo, Director of Schneider Electric Cikarang Plant, who warmly received us and invited us to visit their plant. During this visit, we had the opportunity to learn about the latest system innovations, work culture, projects and new tools of Schneider Electric Cikarang as a smart factory. On this occasion, our co-director, Mr. Manuel AZIBI, had the opportunity to present our innovative projects in the field of educational learning, which aims to help students and teachers to use the Schneider Electric equipment provided in vocational schools. We hope to collaborate soon in operator training using digital training tools. It was a great honour and pleasure to discuss our common training issues. We are looking forward to our first work together.

Virtual Visit from British Chambers of Commerce

Centre of Excellence for Electricity, Automation and Renewable Energy is gaining recognition. The British Chambers of Commerce Indonesia was interested in visiting the CoE EARE facilities to explore energy access opportunities in Indonesia. However, for one reason or another, this visit was changed to virtual visit via Zoom. On 15 July 2022, CoE EARE had the opportunity to present the CoE Academy Project and the EcoStruxure XR Operator Advisor project for Renewable Energy equipment to delegates from BritCham Indonesia, Innovate UK, and several British companies engaged in the energy sector, such as Inclusive Energy, Blockchain & Climate Institute, CARNOT, dpSun, Ronsek Limited, ACELERON, Lind Electronics and STRAW INNOVATIONS LTD. We look forward to the delegates directly visiting CoE facilities in BBPPMPV BMTI Kemdikbud and building future collaborations.
